It was not until by the end of 2004 that the stage’s (skene) complete revelation took place, only when a part of Venizelou Street was given for use. The theatre’s western entrance (parodos or eisodos) was disclosed after the latest expropriations, whereas the central eastern one remains covered. In excavation of 2006, after the entire removal of Venizelou str. and its pavement, several important discoveries, located behind the stage (skene), were noticed. The specific findings definitely redefine and determine the monument’s image and role.
